The best way you
can help prevent tooth decay is to brush with a fluoride
toothpaste and drink fluoridated water. (A call to your
local water district is all that is necessary to determine
whether your water has fluoride or not.) If
your water is not fluoridated or if your teeth need
more fluoride to stay healthy, Dr. Vaishali can prescribe
it in the form of a gel, mouthrinse or tablet.
At Precious Dental Care we know that the most decay-prone areas of teeth are the grooves and small pits on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, which require further preventive care.
To prevent decay, a plastic-like
coating called a sealant should be
painted on the chewing surfaces of all the back teeth. |
